The research aimed to discover the knowledge through data with text mining analysis from articles published based on specific keywords: anxiety and sport performance. The database between 2000 to 2025 from SCOPUS was searched using the keywords “anxiety” and “sport performance” and the number of studies for years, the average number of citations per year, the journals and authors that published the most on this subject, the citation burst values of the authors, the countries and cooperation status of responsible authors, the most the cited articles, word cloud, word tree map, conceptual structures, and trend topic were examined under the bibliometric tool. According to the results obtained, interest in the subject increased from 73 studies in 2016-2020 to 135 studies in 2021-2025. The journal in which the articles on the subject were published the most frequently was “Frontiers in Psychology,” and it was studied by Glass CR and has been cited since 2009. The top three keywords were anxiety, sport performance, and human. The most conceptual structure mapping identified a one-cluster group of psychological aspects: training, human, athletic performance, attention, depression, motivation, anxiety, emotion, depression, cognition, sport, etc. Finally, the trend studied topics were therapy, sport medicine, China, mindfulness, physical activity, athletic performance, attention, physiology, competitive behavior, child, cognition, elite athlete, human, female, male, anxiety, depression, testosterone, motivation, perception, hydrocortisone, heart rate, anxiety disorder, affect, sports, anger and psychological aspect, genotype and psychological stress, exercise test and middle aged., etc. The text mining analysis shows updated evidence related to various psychological aspects, such as anxiety, attention, depression, motivation, emotion, cognition, and mindfulness, which affect competitive behavior and athletic performance.
