The present study aims to examine and compare the level of achievement motivation between state-level and division-level cricket players of the Narmadapuram Division. Achievement motivation is a crucial psychological trait that significantly influences an athlete's drive to excel, set goals, and strive for success in competitive sports. A total of 60 male cricket players were selected for the study, comprising 30 state-level and 30 division-level players. The Achievement Motivation Scale developed by Dr. M. L. Kamlesh was used to assess the motivational levels of the participants. An independent samples t-test was employed to analyze the data and determine statistical significance between the two groups. The results revealed a significant difference in achievement motivation, with state-level players exhibiting higher levels of motivation compared to their division-level counterparts. The findings suggest that competitive exposure, training environment, and performance expectations at the state level may contribute to enhanced motivational drives. The study underscores the importance of psychological preparation and motivation-enhancing strategies for athletes at all levels to improve overall performance.
