Abstract:

The study aimed to prepare an educational curriculum based on the Dunn and Dunn model to teach some basic handball skills to students, in addition to identifying the significance of the differences between the two groups (experimental and control) in post-tests related to the performance of basic skills in handball, the researchers hypothesized that there were statistically significant differences between the two groups on post-tests in favor of the experimental group in learning basic skills. The researchers adopted the experimental approach using the method of two equivalent groups, while conducting two pre- and post-tests to suit the nature of the research problem. The research community was deliberately identified from the second-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Misan for the academic year (2024-2025), numbering (38) female students, who were divided into two sections: the applied section (23 female students) and the theoretical section (15 female students). The applied department was chosen as the study community, and the sample was randomly divided into two groups, with each group including (10) female students, the educational curriculum was applied according to the Dunn and Dunn model to the experimental group, while the traditional educational units were applied to the control group. Thus, the sample constituted (52.63%) of the total research population. The results of the study showed that the Dunn and Dunn model contributed significantly to improving the level of female students in learning basic skills in handball, as the experimental group showed greater enthusiasm for learning and a noticeable performance improvement, as for the recommendations, the researchers recommended the need to encourage teachers to diversify their teaching methods and approaches, in addition to employing everything new in teaching handball to develop students' learning levels.
