Abstract:

The current study aimed to identify the effect of the reciprocal and command teaching styles on improving the basic volleyball skills of fourth year female students in the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Misan. The study sample consisted of 24 female students who were intentionally selected. To achieve the objectives of the study, the experimental method was employed in order to obtain the required data, and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for data analysis. The findings indicated that the use of the command style had a slight effect on raising the skill level in volleyball, whereas teaching through the reciprocal style contributed to good and even excellent improvement in the motor skills of volleyball (serving and spiking) among the students in the research sample.
